ABOUT MICHELLE

Michelle Vey was born in rural Massachusetts and grew up on the east coast. She attended Waldorf schools: Pine Hill and High Mowing in Wilton, New Hampshire, and Michael Hall in Forest Row in the UK. She went on to The New England School of Art and Design in Boston before moving to San Francisco to attend The California School of Professional Fabric Design in Berkley.Michelle’s love for the visual arts brought her into the arena of film and photography where she built a career as a prop stylist in San Francisco, Chicago and New York. Michelle’s career as a stylist began in 1995 in the area of wardrobe for TV commercials, where she worked with companies such as, Celsius Film Inc, Bedford Falls productions, T Minus 30 Films, Green Dot Films, Them 2 Productions, VooDoo Films, and Heffernan Films.  Michelle’s focus in Chicago, and New York has been mainly Still photography styling for companies such as, Lands End, Levi’s, Playboy, Carson Pirie Scott, Martha Stewart, Macy’s and a variety of small start up companies.  During her more then 20 year career, Michelle has worked primarily as a prop stylist in many areas of this creative field. She has designed and propped large sets, such as kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms and dining rooms. She has also worked on small sets styling cosmetics, jewelry and accessories. Although she does not consider her self a food stylist Michelle has done a lot of food and drink propping. Michelle has done life style and “lay down fashion” as well as crafting and faux finishing. Michelle love’s shape and color and has an informed sense of composition and design. She thrives on hard work and brings her innovation, energy, enthusiasm and organization to every project.
